Nocturne Debut!!!

Newspaper reporter Alyson Wingate’s life is safe. In fact, some would call it downright boring. She’s worked hard to make it that way. But when she happens upon a murder victim on a mountain road, her world and control begins to crumble. Chased by vampires, she’s forced to turn to the only man who might be able to help—her cheating ex.

Wil Clark wants to protect Aly from the vampires who are killing the town’s citizens and controlling the police department. To do it, he is forced to reveal his darkest secrets. Finally able to show his true self, Wil pushes Aly to embrace the metaphysical abilities she’s always denied. They reconcile and form a fiery alliance as they fight to stay alive. Although the reunion is sweet, their rekindled love gives the vampires even more to use against them.

Will the neighboring city’s master vampire help them out of the mess? Or will he only complicate things more?

Only one thing is certain. Nothing will ever be the same—assuming they survive.

Johnny Depp...a vampire?

Okay, so my daughter pointed out to me that Depp was to portray a vampire in an upcoming movie. When I started researching, I found out that a deal has been made for him to star in a movie version of the classic Dark Shadows.

Of course, after watching so many of his movies, like Sweeny Todd, I realized that he definitely had a dark side. As it turns out, Depp is a vampire junkie on some level...or at least where Dark Shadows is concerned. In Variety, I found that "Depp has said in interviews that he has always been obsessed with 'Dark Shadows' and had, as a child, wanted to be Barnabas Collins, the vampire patriarch of the series."

Well, welcome to my list of favorite actors, Depp. The character Jack Sparrow is one of my favorites, but somehow knowing that we share an interest in Dark Shadows makes me like the actor even more. Here's to hoping that the vampire role is NOT shown as a dorky fanged freak. I have no doubt that Depp could pull it off, but I'm not sure about the rest of the movie crew. Either way, I'll be first in line to see this movie when it hits the theater! And, somehow I see a new vampire character in one of my books who looks similar to Johnny Depp in the near future.

Ghost Hunting

I know this is probably a silly thing to some. My writing sisters and brothers will understand, though.I've made a contact who has the fascinating hobby.
She is a paranormal investigator who is part of a larger group with a well known television show. When she agreed to be my consultant on an upcoming book series, I literally did the Snoopy dance at my desk. I love the work they do, but I'm too chicken to do it myself. I've had experiences with malevolent spirits and I want nothing to do with them again. If that means staying completely away from paranormal investigation, that's fine by me. However, I'm writing a story about a girl that is a ghost hunter. So, I have to know something about it. Right?
Anyway, I won't give out the details because I think that would be kind of rude at this point. I just had to blog about it.

Contest Winners!

Contest Winners!

May's "Name Angela's Character" Contest

We had a great response on this contest, and I hope to do more in the near future. We had so many great name entries that I had to do a second round of judges to break a three way tie. The winning name was:

Devlin Campbell

The winner, Char Coyle, has been notified. For her suggestion, she'll get the gift pack and the name will be used in the book, along with a shout-out in the acknowledgements.

Also, during the month of May,

I made two virtual appearances where we gave away two gift certificates to Drollerie Press for free books. Thanks to all the entrants. Keep an eye out for future appearances to win more!
